The employment team involves individuals whose goal is to support employment services and professional development opportunities for community members in Sheridan and Englewood, while also identifying gaps in resources and addressing these gaps by collaborating with community organizations.


Goals, Strategies, and Activities

Strategy: Addressing low employment and underemployment

Goal/Objective: By 2020, Sheridan and Englewood citizens will help support a positive quality lifestyle that demonstrates an increase to employment services and professional development.

Activities:

  • Reach out and collaborate with local web designer to design a coalition website to host information about coalition and efforts

  • Engage young people to help with design of website and feedback

  • Host community meetings or work with local businesses to gain support and participation to be a part of Connect CO

  • Work with Arapahoe Douglas Workforce to ensure job opportunities are accessible and credible

  • Incorporate community website launch in community newsletters and social media and invite young people to participate

  • Disseminate employment information to families and youth via schools

  • Collaborate with Englewood Chamber of Commerce to share information and resources

  • Host a community employment forum and invite resources to the community
